“What is a scientist after all? It is a curious [person] looking through a keyhole, the keyhole of nature, trying to know what’s going on.”
-Jacques Yves Cousteau
Life Before Thomas Jefferson High School
My education journey began to the east. I graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a masters degree in secondary education and a bachelors degree in earth and space science. Upon graduating, I moved to Phoenix, AZ to take my first position as a 6th & 7th grade math and science teacher. After a year in Phoenix, I knew the heat was not for me, and looked to move to Denver. I worked for 1 year as an associate teacher in an elementary school upon moving to Colorado, and eventually found a position teaching physics at a high school charter where I taught for 2 years. I began at TJ in the 2019-2020 school year as a Earth Science and Physical Science teacher. Besides teaching, other interests include playing basketball and ultimate frisbee. I also enjoy a lot of movies, tv shows, and video games. Whenever possible I like to find time to hike or camp with my Fiance and our dog. There’s certainly way more to my story, and happy to share if you find yourself interested!
